Divas Unleashed: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Here is a list of frequently asked questions about Divas Unleashed. We hope the answer to any questions you may have is found on this page. If your question is not answered here, please contact us and we'll be happy to answer it for you.

If I don't submit an application, will I be accepted?
No. We will have no information about you or character and don't know if you are serious about joining.

Where are the application forms?
The application forms are located under 'Applications' on the 'Backstage' part of the menu. Please remember to use a working email address so we can contact you.

If I don't submit a sample roleplay, will I be accepted?
Sample roleplays are not compulsory but it would be very helpful if you could link us to one. Sample roleplays allow us to know who to place you against what level of skill you are at. We're not judging you, we usually accept everyone.

Where is the roleplay board?
The roleplay board can be found under 'Roleplay Forums' on the menu of the main page. You post your roleplays in the forum marked 'Roleplay Board' on our official forums, which is the top section. Roleplay rules and deadlines are posted there too. Remember to sign up as your character so we know who you are.

My character's picture base is Trish Stratus? Will she be allowed?
No, DU doesn't accept famous faces.

What constitutes a famous face?
Famous faces include famous actresses and singers, certain well-known models (such as Giselle), WWE/WCW/ECW/TNA alumni past and present. Indie wrestlers are usually okay. If you know who they are then they're probably too famous. We can link you to websites which will help you pick out a poser. Examples of who we don't accept: Adriana Lima, Angelina Jolie, Avril Lavigne, Chyna, Heidi Klum, Pink, Tyra Banks, Victoria.

Why don't you accept famous faces?
We are an efed with original characters so we like to keep the appearances of our divas original too. Famous faces are recognisable so we think they would overshadow your character, and usually people end up with the same base as somebody else. We also don't want to get sued. Most models, athletes, indy divas and foreign or unknown actresses are fine. We are usually relaxed when it comes to picture bases and will try to help you find them if you're unable to but please understand that we receive so many applications with famous bases that we have to now highlight how important this is. Yes, Heidi Montag IS too famous.

How are the roleplays judged?
We have devised the fairest judging system we can. We will ask impartial people, most likely the staff, to judge the matches and these judges report back with who they think has the better roleplay and who should win. We ask a fair number of people to judge to get a range of opinion, and the person who has the majority will win their match. It's not a popularity contest, we ask for reasons why they picked their winner. After trying numerous systems, this IS the fairest so don't tell us otherwise.

Are there any limitations or roleplay deadlines?
There is a 25 line minimum for roleplays, which is a very easy target to meet. Anything less and you're not trying. We would like you to put effort into your roleplays. The deadline for roleplays is always pinned clearly in the roleplay forum. Roleplaying rules are also posted there as well, please read them.

My roleplay is over the deadline, is it accepted?
If it is only slightly over the deadline then yes. The maximum is an hour. If it's longer than that then no. If you have a valid excuse for posting late, contact us and we'll decide whether you can post or not. The deadlines are there to be stuck by to, you have plenty of time to roleplay during the week and we try to keep things fair for the people who did post before the deadline.

My opponent posted two hours after the deadline, why was this accepted?!
We have handlers in all areas of the world. We have made some adjustments to the deadlines so that people on the GMT line get a little extra time so their deadline does not fall at unreasonable hours for them such as 5am when your deadline may close at an easy 11pm due to your time zone. The deadlines are worked around American times, and this is done to keep things fair for all our members.

When is my bio or biopics going to be up?
If you are a new to the fed, your bio won't be appear until you post your first roleplay and have your first match.

Why do I have to wait to have a match for my bio to go up?
I'm sure you can understand the amount of applications we have received where the applicant decides not roleplay and disappears or decides not to join. It's a waste of time for us to put up a bio before the person has roleplayed.

I didn't roleplay for my debut match and I haven't been booked since but I still want to join!
Don't worry, contact us and we'll book you for another match. If you don't contact us, we'll assume that you weren't serious about joining. We usually PM you once after this to follow up with what happened and if they want another match, so we will happily book you again if it was your first time. If you have done it four times in a row, then no, we don't want you anymore.

When will I get a title shot?
We will decide when you get a title shot when we think you are ready and deserve it. Don't ask or demand title shots. If you perform well by roleplaying every week, and depending the current feuds then you will be given one. If you ask for one in a roleplay, you won't receive one.

Why did I lose?
This is a very common question. We don't really have a good answer for it, you just did. The other person's roleplay was better than yours and our roleplay judges decided that. Simple as. The judges are impartial, nobody is out to 'get you'. Don't make yourself look ridiculous by suggesting any other motives because it will null any argument/case you have. If you do feel like you were geniunely wronged and you should have won, then please contact us and we will review the decision for you. Don't take things too seriously, it is a game after all.

What's the guidelines on language and swearing in roleplays? How far can I go?
We don't mind foul language and swearing, we're laid back on the whole issue but we don't tolerate any racial slurs or insults. If you use them without good context for them to be used, we may give you a warning. If you think the content of your roleplay may offend someone, put a disclaimer at the start.

Are sexual content and nudity permitted in roleplays?
If you post pictures of a pornography in any kind they will be removed from your roleplay. Sexual content and nudity are permitted in writing but be aware that not everyone wants to read a full-on sex scene. If there's a context for it then fine. You can find more information on what's allowed and what's not in the Roleplay Rules on the roleplay board.

Where are the Exile results?
Exile results are under the card and are updated once they are posted.

When will the card/results for ___ be up?
They will be up when they are ready. We usually aim to post them a few days after the roleplay cycle has completed but sometimes the judging and writing process can take a long time. It will also speed up results if you send in your segments/angles and matches before the deadline closes. There is no 'set' date for results to be posted so please be patient.

How often do shows take place?
We aim to have a show every two weeks but you will always get two weeks to roleplay for a show, and you will be emailed when a card or results have been posted.

I want to submit an angle. What do I?
If you want to submit an angle then simply send your written angle in via PM or email. If you want to use other divas, you need permission from them. If you're worried about the content of your angle, please contact the staff so we can approve it for you before you write it.

When do you need angles/matches by?
Before the deadline closes is best for us in getting results posted quickly but you can submit angles and matches after the deadline has expired. There is no 'set' time but the quicker you send them in, the quicker results are posted.

Do you accept strats or strategys?
Divas Unleashed does accept strats for your match but they won't count to the overall outcome of your match. A strat will not count towards whether you win or lose. If you want to send in a strat or spot requests for your match, PM or email them and the writers will be happy to work it into your match.

A matchwriter is writing my match yet I want specific spots to happen in the match. What do I do?
Contact the person writing your match and inform them with the details of what you planned to happen in the match.

One of your divas plagiarised my work! What are you going to do about it?
If you feel your work has been plagiarised, contact us. Provide a copy of the roleplay you think has been plagiarised and a copy of your original roleplay with a date of when it was posted/written. We need the 'date' to be able to do anything about, so if it's posted on a forum, link us to that forum. We need evidence. We will try to help you out and come to a resolution, so please don't come at us guns-blazing because that will not help things at all.

My question isn't answered here! What do I do?
You can email us and we'll answer the question for you.
