~ 3WL BRASS MAKES OFFICIAL STATEMENT! ~

IPB Image

- 3WL Headquaters - Atlanta, Georgia -

The following statement has Huge announcements concerning the over all 3WL product and changes. Chairwoman Angela Pontes held a long conference beginning at 6am eastern time that has lasted until 1pm this afternoon. From the board meeting, the officials of World Women's Wrestling League has asked 3WL Online Insider to pass on the news and decisions that the company has decided to do. The obvious shock has been the earlier announcement about the stripping of the titles from their respective champions earlier this week. Many wrestling news websites have been printing rumors and speculation, but now 3WL is ready to release the real reason behind that decision.

As of today, July 9, 2010 - All 3WL champions are stripped of their titles. All reigns of those titles come to an end. Mentioned also in the week was that several names have decided to mutually part ways with World Women's Wrestling League either by request and/or not renewing their contracts. Former World Champion - Serena Royale, former United States Champion - Wendy House and former Sky High Champion - Delilah are three names who opted to not renew their contracts this week. Former Tag Team Champions The Power Trip have decided to mutually part ways with the company, therefore 3WL has granted the trio (Samantha Star, Isabella Pazzini, and Ryan Mackenzie) their release. Because these champions are gone, 3WL decided to strip the titles the day contracts expired and releases granted, being today.

The former World Heavyweight Champion Serena Royale was reached for comment simply stating, "At this point in my life, I got many things going on. I need a leave of absence from the business as a whole so that I may take care of things. Depending on how things go, I may return to the ring. In the business, you never say never. I loved my time in 3WL. I love the fans. 3WL is a world class business. I apologize to any of my fans for my sudden leave, but I hope they understand. I want to say thank you to the fans and 3WL for their incredible support."

Along with the shocking news of champions leaving 3WL, some other Athenas have opted to not renew their short term contracts to long term, including Traci Loveheart, La Cazadora, Camilla Mackenzie-Pazzini, and Rainbow. Former Sky High Champion Ashley Riot has quietly opted to not renew her contract. The controversial Athena has been out with injury for a few months and seeing that her injury is in for the long haul, she wants to concentrate on her health.

All the Athenas mentioned may have decided now is the time to leave to concentrate on life, but are very much well aware that they are always welcome back to World Women's Wrestling League when and if the time is right as the door will always be open. 3WL has seen many Athenas come and go, then return at some point. Maybe it is only a matter of time before these Athenas return to the 3WL ring wars. We'll keep you posted on the development of these amazing Athenas. 3WL thanks them for all their contributions and wish absolutely the best in their future endeavors.

On the plus side, the legendary and former World Champion Dame Barbara Windsor has been cleared from doctors to return to the ring! Dame Barbara will be making her first on-screen appearance and possibly first match back since her injury and losing the World Championship last December next CLASH. We're glad the ole' broad is doing great and look forward to having her back. It is being rumored this could be her last run in the ring! 3WL is also glad to have the return of the gorgeous and dangerous Bella Luna, who made her return impact on the 6/25th episode of CLASH!

[hr]

With a few names now no longer in 3WL, namely the champions - many will begin to wonder the crowning of new champions and how will it be done. Officials have come to the solution of a couple ways. "The Rose Goddess" Crystal Hilton was named number one contender to the Sky High Champion on the 6/25th edition of CLASH. Following her victory, she put her number one contender status on the line against the vivacious Milani Maxxxim. Both Crystal and Milani will decide in a one on one contest who will be the next Sky High Champion at a date to be announced in the future. The reason for a later date is because both ladies will participate in the two-part tournament now decided to be called the 2010 Athena Cup Tournament to determine a new Women's World Heavyweight Champion!

Say for example if Milani and/or Crystal make it to the finals and win, then one of them will no longer be in the match to decide a new Sky High Champion. A new opponent will be determined while one of the previous two Athenas will remain in the match for the vacant strap. The Tag Team Championship will remain vacant for the time being until an appropriate time has come to crown new champions. The goal will be to eventually have new Tag Team Champions. Commissioner Chastity Pride and Inspector Strawberry will be the ones to decide who and when the time is right and how the titles will be determined.

Sad news comes in the form that one championship has been deemed retired. On the website, readers and visitors may have noticed that the United States Championship has been placed in the retired/inactive title history. Officials have said to the Online Insider that because the championship has suffered many vacancies, they feel the belt should be retired for good to prevent further vacancies and instead replace the belt with a championship that has a good standing. After much talk in the conference room, officials have decided to bring back the NEWF Women's Championship - a title that has great memories attached to it in the 3WL squared circle. Plus, the title (originally from the now defunct New Era Wrestling Federation) comes from a promotion that stood behind 3WL and helped 3WL become a phenomena.

Many great names have enjoyed reigns as NEWF Women's Champion. However, there will be different rules surrounding this title, yet keep the memory of NEWF alive. Former Commissioner and "Owner" Chris Reed would be proud. 3WL officials have decided that the championship will be defended in Joshi Puroresu rules, similar to that of our fellow Japanese counterparts in the land of the rising sun. This means the title will have no disqualification and the count out is extended to 20 instead of the normal 10. To add our own 3WL flare, the NEWF Women's Champion can only retain her title through submission or knock out, unless otherwise said different (i.e. a ladder match or per a unique stipulation from an official).

A new NEWF Women's Champion will be determined at a later time. Meanwhile, the major news comes in the form of the 2010 Athena Cup Tournament, which will crown the 20th official reign of the Women's World Heavyweight Champion! The tournament is a two-part tournament, essentially two tournaments that will determine the two competitors who will face each other for the World Championship. This tournament will also make history as 3WL is making the tournament an Open Invitational Tournament, meaning that any female competitor from the around the globe can participate! 3WL Athenas are automatically entered into the tournament. A sign up sheet will be open for a small time and if no woman takes the invitation, then the tournament will go on with only 3WL Athenas.

This is a major opportunity for any female athlete! The major prize in women's professional wrestling is on the line for all competitors and it will determine the 20th reign of the title. The World Championship has history beginning in 2002 and after eight years, we'll finally see who will have the 20th reign of the richest prize. If the winner of the tournament is a non-3WL competitor, she will continue to defend the championship in 3WL and only in the 3WL ring, unless otherwise stated by a 3WL official.

[hr]

The massive Global Tour will continue in Europe once CLASH picks up steam again. The first CLASH show back from these changes will return Friday July 30th! This will give another week before an official card is released and give time for signees to enter the World Championship Tournament. Deadline for the World Championship Tournament will be next Thursday 7/15th @ Midnight eastern time. On Friday July 16th, a brand new CLASH card will be released to the public and to our Athenas!

These major changes are very exciting. This is a brand new start and a new slate for the Athenas. 3WL will be going back to its "No Guts, No Glory" style. It is pure wrestling and hard strikes. Every 3WL Athena will be on the top of her game with mandatory training as usual at the 3WL Dojo (or in our case being over seas for the time being at the arena we're performing). The 3WL Athenas are not "divas" or "knockouts" - they are fierce competitors and true atheletes. For this new beginning, all the Athenas have the opportunity to breathe new life in the direction of their careers and give the best they know how to their matches.

To all the Athenas - this is your chance to step up and to shine. Take the ball and run with it! For all future competitors and Athenas, 3WL welcomes you with open arms and looks forward to what you can bring to the 3WL mat wars.

The Online Insider will keep you posted for further annoucements and/or changes. Please keep checking back for more updates.

- CLASH - FRIDAY JULY 30, 2010 - PARIS, FRANCE -

World Women's Wrestling League's re-boot was a MAJOR success with fans, critics, and peers alike. CLASH is a five-star rating as the re-boot kicked off in Paris, France continuing from the massive GLOBAL TOUR 3WL is traveling on. Live in Paris, 3WL jumped started the night with first round matches in it's huge 2010 Open Invitation Athena Cup Tournament to crown a new World Champion. Many ladies jumped on board accepting the invitation including the likes of Divas Unleashed Divas KibbyD, Rockford State Champion Mercedes Vargas, and Divas Unleashed Champion Veronica Valiant.

New Athenas debuted as well including Charlie Gage and Jessica Richardson (who is of the Richardson clan). But Paris also marked the return of several Athenas coming back to action from the injured list such as "The Latina Pitbull" Eva Rodriguez and Dame Barbara Windsor (who returned to the ring since losing the World Title last December)! The shocking returns however came in the form of Giovanna Bartuzzinni, whom retired from the sport four years ago and later in the evening, her sister Santina Bartuzzinni made an appearance in the main event! Also, former Athena Bella Luna returned to action in Paris as well!

KibbyD opened the show with a few choice words to the fans and to 3WL. Valerie Belmont appeared and took exception, attacking the former DU Champion. In first round action the undefeated Valerie Belmont continued her winning streak with an upset victory over Divas Unleashed Diva KibbyD! Kibby had her foot on the rope, but the referee and Valerie never saw it. Rightfully upset, KibbyD threatened to sue 3WL for discrimination, but that threat was thwarted when Commissioner Chastity Pride re-instated the All Pacific Championship and awarding the title to KibbyD! KibbyD was four years ago an Athena and the last recognized All Pacific Champion. However, Inspector Strawberry came into the picture changing the title name to the Television Championship and was able to encourage KibbyD for her first title defense on the next episode of CLASH!

Meanwhile, Dame Barbara Windsor made a big return to the ring with a victory over debut Athena Jessica Richardson. Following the match, Jessica accepted a handshake of sportsladyship from the legendary British Hall of Famer. Eva Rodriguez scored her first singles victory over the great Tory Blaze to advance in the first round. For the longest time, Tory always managed to win over Eva in singles competition, but on this night in Paris - Eva came back stronger than ever following her vow of change in 3WL from CLASH a few weeks prior. Giovanna Bartuzzinni also made a big return to the ring after four years of retirement! Along side her protege' Giulianna Pellegrino, Gia managed to show she's still the same sly Giovanna and Golden Goddess when she out maneuvered the rapidly growing crowd favorite, Milani Maxxxim to advance in the tournament.

Angel Kash created some controversy when she defeated Camilla Pazinni-Mackenzie to advance in to the second round of the Athena Cup Tournament. Right when Angel had Camilla down with a German Suplex, Camilla got the shoulder up before the count of three, however, the referee counted three despite seeing the shoulder up and crowning Angel the winner anyway! As turned out, Angel paid the new referee money from her Trillion Dollar bank account to cheat Camilla. DU Rockford State Champion Mercedes Vargas won a triple threat match over the returning Bella Luna and new Athena Charlie Gage. Mercedes before the match expressed her determination to win the tournament, granted not in the most friendliest way. Also in triple threat action was Divas Unleashed Champion Veronica Valiant, whom before her match surprised opponent Crystal Hilton with a present. The present was was a sick and twisted idea from Veronica, which was a nuse as means to poke fun at Crystal's serious mental breakdown a couple weeks prior to CLASH in Paris.

Not at all happy with the present, Crystal immediately clawed at Veronica forcing officials to break up the fight. Upon entering the arena for her match, Veronica was viciously attacked by an angry Crystal! Crystal laid out Veronica with the Lights Out kick, but before she could get the three, the third competitor in the match Kassandra pulled Crystal off the fallen DU Champion to try and sneak away the win. But Veronica played possum and rolled up Kassandra for the win in the fastest tournament time of 1:05! Crystal tried to again get her hands on Veronica, including having Kassandra help officials keep Crystal away.

Eva Rodriguez was congratulated by Tory Blaze backstage on a victory well deserved. Eva mentions to Tory she's fought a tougher Tory before. Tory breaks down says being away from her family has gotten to her. Eva calls Tory pathetic and get her crap together. Back in the ring, Giulianna Pellegrino is the final competitor to advance in the tournament when she upsetted Wendy House, the former U.S. Champion (now a retired title as of 7/9th) thanks to help from Giovanna Bartuzzinni, Giulianna's mentor. Though despite Giovanna's few interferences, it was ultimately the help from the sudden appearance of Santina Bartuzzinni who popped out of the crowd, sliding a cane to Giulianna to help take out Wendy for the victory. In the end, it was The Mafia standing tall.

Next CLASH, the show is live in Berlin, Germany on August 13th and with the conclusion of Tournament A! Who will win the tournament and be the first challenger for the World Championship match? Following the August 13th show, Tournament B of the Athena Cup Tournament will commence and once again the ladies of 3WL and the invitees will have another opportunity to be apart of the World Championship Match.
